3 Warsaw – Gdansk Sightseeing (2 nights) Travel to Gdansk known as the amber capital of the world. It is one of the oldest cities in Poland and famous for being the centre where Lech Walesa founded the famous Solidarity movement. On arrival enjoy a sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist and view the major attractions of this Baltic city. Tonight dinner is served at your hotel. 5 Gdansk – Toruń – Wroclaw (2 nights) Stop in the medieval town of Toruń this morning, famed for being the birthplace of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue on to Wroclaw which was the European Capital of Culture in 2016 and is the capital of Lower Silesia and the fourth-largest city in Poland. Tonight enjoy dinner at your hotel. 6 Wroclaw Sightseeing This morning enjoy a guided tour of the city with a Local Specialist. This city was at one time or another ruled by Poland, Bohemia, Austria, Prussia and Germany. Discover its complex history and see some of the most important sites including Wroclaw Cathedral, the Main Market Square, Old Town Hall and Salt Square which was a former medieval marketplace and today hosts a flower market. 7 Wroclaw – Zakopane Your journey today takes you towards the foot of the Tatra Mountains, the highest mountain range of the Carpathians which stretch roughly 1500km across Central Europe. Spend time enjoying the local town or consider taking an Optional Experience mountain excursion. Later check-in to your hotel where you will enjoy dinner. 8 Zakopane – Kraków sightseeing (2 nights) Travel today to the picturesque city of Kraków. View the Royal Castle and Cathedral on Wawel Hill during a sightseeing tour with your Local Specialist. 9 Kraków free time or optional experience to Wieliczka Salt Mines This morning is a free day to explore Krakow. Alternatively consider an Optional Experience to visit the Wieliczka Salt Mines, comprising a labyrinth of tunnels with around 22 chambers. 10 Krakow – Auschwitz – Czestochowa (Jasna Góra Monastery) – Warsaw Stop this morning to visit the poignant concentration camp at Auschwitz, a permanent reminder of the horrors perpetrated during the Holocaust. Visit Jasna Góra Monastery with a Local Specialist, Poland's most famous shrine to the Virgin Mary featuring the iconic Black Madonna of Czestochowa. Find out about the history of this very important monastic site which is revered in Poland. Finish the day in Warsaw where this trip around Poland started.
