Scenic Cruises Embarkation Changes and Sailing Date Change Policy

Updated March 8, 2021 - On behalf of the Scenic Group team, we hope that you and your families are all well. While there has been encouraging progress made with several countries starting to implement a COVID-19 vaccination program, the timeframes for the roll-out varies significantly for each region that Scenic Group (Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises) operates in. The safety of guests and crew remains first priority and they are closely monitoring this constantly evolving situation.

On February 8, the Norwegian Government announced a hearing for a proposal to extend the Interim Act relating to entry restrictions for foreign nationals out of concern for public health. The Interim Act was originally valid until June 1, 2021. Under the new proposal, the statutory provisions shall apply until 31 December 2021. Also, the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) have placed ongoing restrictions for ships cruising in US waters.

These travel restrictions, international border closures, quarantine requirements and extension of lockdowns in many countries, continue to make it impossible for them to fully operate the Scenic Eclipse Arctic season from 1 June to 30 September 2021, including the East Coast USA Adventure (701U) scheduled to depart on 27 September 2021.

This situation is completely out of their control and the COVID-19 pandemic is a Force Majeure Event, as defined within the Scenic Group terms and conditions.

For guests with a Scenic Eclipse 2021 Arctic Voyage departure between 1 June to 30 September 2021, or the East Coast USA Adventure 27 September 2021 Voyage departure, they will provide a Future Travel Credit (FTC) Voucher for the full amount that has been paid to date:

Valid for travel commenced through to 30 June 2024

The 100% FTC voucher is based on the amount paid for your reservation to date

The FTC can be applied to a river or ocean cruise booking within the Scenic Group

The credit can be applied to an existing booking or when re-booking your future travel

The FTC is also fully transferrable to another guest

The FTC can only be used to make a new future booking and cannot be redeemed for cash

If you choose not to take up the option of the Future Travel Credit (FTC), you can opt to forfeit your future travel credit under standard terms and conditions, then consult with your travel insurance company to enquire if you are eligible to lodge a claim.

For guests with river cruise, ocean cruise and land tour booking departing 1 to 31 May 2021, they will provide a 100% Future Travel Credit (FTC) for the amount paid to date.

For Ocean and River Cruise bookings, the flexible conditions for your FTC are as follows:

Valid for travel commenced through to 30 June 2024

The 100% FTC is based on the amount paid for your reservation to date

The FTC can be applied to any river or ocean cruise booking within the Scenic Group

The credit can be applied to any existing booking or when re-booking your future travel

The FTC is also fully transferrable to another guest

The FTC can only be used to make a new future booking and cannot be redeemed for cash

If you choose not to take up the option of the Future Travel Credit (FTC), you can opt to forfeit your future travel credit under our standard terms and conditions, then consult with your travel insurance company to enquire if you are eligible to lodge a claim.

For International Land Tour bookings, the flexible conditions for your FTC are as follows:

Valid for travel commenced through to 30 June 2024

The 100% FTC is based on the amount paid for your reservation to date

The FTC can be applied to any land tour, river or ocean cruise booking within the Scenic Group

The value of the booking will be applied as a Future Travel Credit (FTC).
